چکیده
Shape Memory Microfibers In article number 2206739, Lavrik, Gao, Yang, and co-workers develop a new testing method for characterizing the mechanics shape memory dynamics of microstructures fabricated with two-photon polymerization in liquid environment. Testing results show that microfibers exhibit different mechanical properties recovery air environments, these can be tuned by controlling writing parameters.

Metamaterials: Snapping Mechanical Metamaterials under Tension (Adv. Mater. 39/2015).
By exploiting snap-through instabilities, D. Pasini and co-workers design a damage-tolerant mechanical metamaterial that snaps sequentially under tension, thereby accommodating a very large deformation up to 150%. On page 5931, they describe how the nonlinear mechanical response of the metamaterial can be robustly programmed by tuning the architecture of its unit cell.

A Neuro - Mechanical Shape Memory Device
1. Abstract In this paper we present what we call a Neuro-Mechanical Shape Memory Device (NMSMD), together with a method for configuration of such devices. This work builds on previous efforts dealing with the concept of Neuro-Mechanical Networks, and a NMSMD is here defined as a Neuro-Mechanical Network (NMN) which has the ability to take on certain predefined shapes when subject to external (...
متن کاملnumerical analysis of thermo-mechanical coupling in shape memory alloys
the phase transformation phenomenon due to the crystallographic change of shape memory alloys subjected to mechanical or thermal loading is very complicated. regarding the thermo-mechanical coupling effects in shape memory alloys, in case of high loading rates, heat generation/absorption during the forward/reverse transformation, will lead in temperature-dependent variation and consequently af...
